The Psyche is a vanity table with a big mirror on axes to make at inclinable. This type of vanity table was quite in fashion towards the end of the 19th century, in the Napoleonic, Directoire and Restoration periods. Mahogany was very much used at the time, mostly as veneer but sometimes as solid wood for the sculptures or some turnings.

I restored the veneer and deteriorated axes. I “revisited” the entire lower part and cleaned the bronze, the drawer and its restored lock.
Then I redid the furniture’s tint and revarnished it with a sponge-applied varnish before reassembling it with its bronze.
