This Louis XVI support cabinet with a grey breccia marble top has a rosewood marquetry with interlacing green fillets.
It was only in cleaning the sponge-applied varnish that I saw the true decorations on the veneer and how the colourful fillets and interlacing highlight them.
I restored the bulging or missing marquetry, and applied a tint and a wax varnish to the whole piece. I then reaffixed the bronze which I had also cleaned.
