This 17th century statue of a Saint has been completely coated in black tar. I could not strip it by micro-sandblasting because the wood was way too worm-eaten.

The correct stripping procedure revealed a walnut surface very deteriorated by woodworm, in addition to parts that had been burnt.

My work involved recreating the missing parts (the left page of the book) and the extremely damaged fold in the chasuble.

I refilled other parts with a tinted resin then gave it a finish and wax patina.
