Here are two original bar chairs labeled “Jacob & Josef Kohn Vienne”.
They were made with the same principle as chairs bearing the “Thonet” label: with steamed and heat bent beechwood. The decorative orbs are screwed on and maintain the chairs’ rigidity.

These rare chairs in a vintage spirit had completely fallen to pieces. The heat-moulded seat had become unstuck and the part held together by the original screws had become very wobbly. In addition, the original “red” varnish, probably having faded, had been covered by a coat of brown paint.

After cleaning the old varnish, I restored the entirety of the pieces, retightening and applying a hot-melt adhesive to the different elements.
I tinted and waxed the two chairs and put their seats back in place.
